Having trouble with your sweeps/reversals? Watch this video for an example why. You can see the gentleman in the blue gi is close to being able to roll the white gi back and take a dominant position. When white gi hips out a little and then elevates his hips, he is able to use the superior position and leverage to roll into a good passing position. There are many situations in Jiu Jitsu where focusing on changing your levels before initiating a movement will give you the advantage you need to overcome against even a stronger opponent.

I know both fighters took this camp very seriously. I think Gordon is probably eating some crow right now for talking about Pena being a quitter and I'm sure Pena is frustrated since he competed last time with the huge emotional burden of Leandro Lo's passing. Ultimately I hope they can reschedule this sooner rather than later and have both fighters physically and mentally ready to leave it all out there once and for all. Good luck to Pena and Nicky Rod! It's not the match I was gearing up to watch but it should be a good one anyway! What are your predictions?

@ismaelsantosbjj with the slick armbar! This armbar was incredibly sneaky since it doesn't rely on any of the normal obvious setups. You can't see it but I had his far leg over hooked and I was working on entering single leg x so I felt like I had enough control to not worry about that straight arm. In probably 90% of armbars or more, we have to focus on controlling the head with our legs for the finish and I felt safe because of the control. By stepping back over the lasso, switching his angle back, and using that far leg to pinch my shoulder, he was actually able to control my posture using my own arm. INSTANT TAP. This armbar has incredible breaking mechanics and it happens SO FAST! Great roll, Ismael! Been great to have you at @fayettevillebjj 🤙🤙
